Nitrous Oxide Emissions on Single Cylinder Diesel Engine Using Variable of Fuel Sulfur and Emulsion Fuel

چکیده
The aim of this work is to investigate the influence of NO/SO2 on the emissions of N2O from diesel engine. A direct-injection diesel engine (model NF-19SK YANMAR) one cylinder was employed to test the emission. This engine works on fourstroke cycle and was operated at 2200 rpm by 25, 50, and 75% engine load. The experiment by three level sulfur content of fuel by adding DBDS into MDO and experiment by emulsion fuel (90% Heavy Liquid Fuel + 10% Water) were conducted in the present work. The result shows that apart from homogeneous interaction between NO, SO2, and N2O emissions, the temperature of exhaust gas has significant effect on N2O formation. Interaction fuel S through reaction N + SO → NO + S and NO + O2 = NO3 then NO3 + SO2 = NO2 + SO3 as would lead to increase in Nitrogen dioxide and Sulfur dioxide concentration. Furthermore, in case of emulsion fuel, the correlation between fuel NO and N2O exhaust emissions was measured.

Emission Reduction Strategies for Small Single Cylinder Diesel Engine Using Valve Timing and Swirl Ratio
Small diesel engines are widely used for commercial vehicle and passenger car applications due to their higher torque requirements, fuel economy, and better thermal efficiency. These engines are exposed to different operating and environmental conditions and hence emissions from these engines are erratic. Strategies are required to enhance performance and reduce engine-out emissions considering...

We report for the first time on the use of water-continuous emulsions stabilized by a bio-based macromolecule in a compression-ignition diesel engine and compare their performance, combustion and emissions against the base fuels (diesel, biodiesel, and jet fuel). For this purpose, high internal phase ratio emulsions (70:30 fuel-to-water) were produced by mechanical emulsification using carboxym...

Nitrogen oxides (NOx) contribute to a wide range of environmental effects including the formation of acid rain and destroy ozone layer. In-cylinder high temperature flame and high oxygen concentration are the parameters which affect the NOx emissions. The EGR system is a very effective way for reducing NOx emission from a diesel engine (via reduction of these parameters), particularly at the...
